How to measure
How to measure yourself for women's clothing When measuring yourself for any piece of women's clothing, measure yourself in a non-padded bra. This will give you the most accurate measurement for a women's dress or other item of women's clothing you're going to buy. And don't pull the tape measure too tight. Where to measure Waist Measure at the natural waistline, just above the hip bone. Remember - women's fashion trousers will have bigger waist measurement, as they are low rise and do not sit on the natural waistline. Skirt length Measure from the natural waistline in a straight line. Inside leg Measure from the top of the inside leg to the floor. Bust Measure around the fullest part of the bust and across the shoulder blades of your back. When measuring the bust for women's underwear and swimwear, follow the bra measuring guidelines. Hips Measure around the fullest part of your hips. As a guideline this is often 20cm below your natural waistline. Dress length Measure from the centre back neck in a straight line.
